MY HAIR

Well I've been educating myself on natural hair but I have had to resort to looking up mixed race and multiracial hair to find my hair type. I identify as a black person all of the time but when you have a biracial parent and you have the same hair as your black and native American grandmother, African American hair tutorials just don't help. The mulatto diaries on YouTube are the TRUTH! Most African Americans who go natural end up having to do the BIG CHOP but my natural hair and my relaxed hair are blending pretty well thank god so I'm not going that route.

It's been 2 1/2 mo.s since I had a perm and today I straightened my hair for the 1st time in a while because I had braids for the last 3.5 wks. Unfortunately I had to cut off a piece in the front that had somehow decided to lock ARGH. No detangler in the world was getting that aloose so it was real little but Imma just pretend its baby hair LOL for the next month or so. The rest of my hair was all over the place when i washed it. the bottom 6-7 inches on the sides dried straight from all the relaxers while the back was curly and all the new growth (2inches or so) was thick and dark showing that my hair aint really this color(darn!)

I'm looking forward to seeing if the natural hair is going to curl up over the next week or if my immaculate pressing skills will hold up!!! When it was air drying it looked soooo thick but then i pressed it and now its all limp again! UGH!!! I'm also looking forward to experimenting with color more now that I won't be relaxing! who knows what imma do
