I wish I had understood at the time but I think I was somewhere between 8-10 years old and my class went on a field trip to the Richmond Zoo. I mean its a deciduous forest moderate climate South side Richmond location and theres a zoo with giraffes ( I LOVE), penguins, kangaroo, you get he picture... Well I've never been too fond of girls so I pretty sure I spent the majority of the trip hanging with my friend Dominque. And at the end of the day of who knows what foolishness, he bought me a plastic fake snake. I told him thank-you and I really meant it. I really like snakes HAHA!
Well I just found the snake. I thought more about what it really meant. You do nice things for your friends. This boy really knew who I was. He wasn't going to give me a fluffy pink tutu or some mess. I know I was a kid but the other boys in my class who I clearly payed more attention to in retrospect never gave me a damn thing. I did get a stab wound and hurt feelings from them though. I think that it's important to realize who your true friends are and to tell them thank you!

Imma talk about my hair
nobody clearly wants to hear me talk about it out loud so imma use blogger as my outlet!!!
ya girl has 5 inches of hair and i can finally achieve a ponytail with only 3 bobby pins. woo-hoo :)
I had no idea I was going to have to do this much trial and error to find a style suitable for my personality. I was cool with the fro but I did not feel like me. I enjoyed the pufftails and the 2 or 3 ponys and the braids on the side and all of that but I'm glad that chapter is coming to an end. I will continue these styles but I will not be doing them daily because now I have other options.
I gave my hair a break with a 16 day weave LOL I wanted to do 30 but I had to make a curl and I missed my daily co- washing. I had only my part left out and I need to stop freaking out about heat damage because for years I had a relaxer and flat ironed weekly and I still had curly hair ...so I really need to stop trippin'.
I am looking forward to the end of August to see how much hair I have! This will make 1 year without a relaxer and if I get to 6 inches * crosses fingas* then I might treat myself to a full blow-out and flat iron or a new expensive product or something. Honestly from time to time I think why don't I just get a relaxer. I know so much more now than I ever knew but I really love these curls way more than any straight hair. I am trying to keep it simple with my hair and all I can hope for is the 1/2 a month. I will not be experimenting with Mega-Tek and the like for extra growth. I will not start drinking protein shakes.
I would like to say that for the 1st month I was fully natural I never detangled my hair with a comb/brush. I kinda sorta ran my fingers through occasionally and I never suffered any ill effects from this. This goes to show you how different our hair can be. Best believe I detangled after my weave b4 washing...I saw what happened to ateya and uh nuh!!!
I don't like the man who's cutting the grass as I speak... I will not come to the door and tell him the gate is unlocked. I don't deal with crazies.
