Keeping It Real!!!

So this morning I got up to go to church. I went to New Birth more on that later. I was watch Baisden After Dark on TVone last night o my TV was still on that channel. I was surprised to hear a familiar voice in Pastor Lance Watson of St Paul's Baptist Church from my hometown of Richmond VA. I have been to his church a few times but had no idea that he was nationally syndicated. I was so excited to be able to hear him every Sunday at 8am from now on.

Well his message this morning I would soon figure out would be the message of the day. He was basically saying you shouldn't love anybody more than you love God or vice versa. Later on at New Birth Bishop Long had the same message in mind. He said that if somebody tells you that they are not complete without you, that you in turn have to let them go. They should be whole before they get to you because there is no way that you can go and do everything with them. He said if you do not love God there is no way you can love me.

This message resonated deep within me. Nobody was BS'in me he was keeping it real and it's the truth. I will look at all my relationships with people (all types) and see if these people are in my life for the right reasons. If you don't love the Lord, Jesus, Jehovah, or some other name he goes by I probably do not need to associate with you any longer.

He also went on to talk about forgiving all of the people that have hurt you in the past so you aren't carrying them around with you any longer. I need to forgive some people. So far I had just been trying to forget some folk but now I know that's not what I need to be doing. I believe that forgiveness will be the end of my hurting. I wish I could get up the courage to tell them to their face, but they probably don't even know how much they had hurt me in the 1st place.

One of the analogies he made was that if if you were to fall off of the balcony you would be hurt, so why when people think they fall in love they think they won't get hurt? Imma leave y'all with that.
